Timothy W. Knight was born and raised in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. He graduated cum laude from Samford University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He graduated magna cum laude from Cumberland School of Law in 1992, and was a member of the Christian Legal Society and an Associate Editor of the Cumberland Law Review.

Tim was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 1992 after graduating from Cumberland. He is also admitted to practice before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals and all U.S. District Courts in Alabama. Tim is a member of the Birmingham and Alabama Bar Associations, and the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association.

Tim's practice focuses primarily on products liability, toxic torts (asbestos and welding fume), construction defect, personal injury, fraud and bad faith, insurance defense, and worker's compensation and general civil defense litigation. He has also successfully represented a major manufacturer in food borne illness litigation in state and federal court.

Tim is married to Ginger Hill Knight, also a Cumberland graduate. He is the father to two daughters, Emily and Julie. Tim is a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, where he serves as a youth Sunday School leader and in other volunteer roles.
